A decade long project, this book is designed to aid ophthalmologists, people with macular degeneration and their families. Many of the 96 pages are in full color. The type size meets the specifications for the Iowa Commission for the Blind publications and is large enough so that even individuals with early signs of macular degeneration should be able to read it. The text contains clear descriptions of the early symptoms and progression of macular degeneration as experienced by Lee Allen, the illustrator and author. The book is 8-1/2x11" and available both in paperback and a limited leatherette bound hardcover edition.

Any profits derived from the sale of this book will be used to support the University of Iowa Center for Macular Degeneration which is dedicated to identifying a cure for age-related macular degeneration by altering its onset and reducing the risk of blindness.
