Intended Audience and Purpose: This conference will provide the optometric practitioner with information that will assist him/her with diagnostic dilemmas and patient questions that are encountered daily. This activity will also bring the optometric practitioner up to date on what is felt to be the standard of ophthalmic care in Iowa.
Educational Objectives: Upon completion of the program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss clinical management of periocular spasm.
- Recognize five critical neuro-ophthalmic diagnoses.
- Discuss new technologies in glaucoma imaging.
- Understand new anterior segment imaging technologies.
- Recognize and treat unique presentations of corneal and external disease.
- Discuss medical and surgical management of macular traction.
- Review premium intraocular lens types.
- Identify current molecular testing options for inherited eye diseases.
- Discuss bioinformatics and how it relates to genetic testing.
- Recognize ocular manifestations of child abuse.
