The Carver Family Center for Macular Degeneration at The University of Iowa
The Carver Family Center for Macular Degeneration is dedicated to research and treatment of macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, and related degenerative diseases of the eye. A major focus of the Center is the development of gene-directed therapy for eye diseases.
The Center coordinates the interaction between the Retina Service, the Kolder Electrophysiology Laboratory, the Perimetry Service, the Ophthalmic Photography Service, the Molecular Ophthalmology Laboratory, the Laboratory for Disease Gene Discovery, the Gene Therapy Group, the Genome Research Laboratory, the Coordinated Laboratory for Computational Genomics of the UI Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and the Vision Rehabilitation Service.
