1.  Does your surgical facility use an intravenous infusion for patients undergoing cataract extraction? 

72% of facilities (167) use an intravenous infusion

2.  If you do not use an intravenous line do you use topical anesthesia only?

Of those facilities that do not use an IV infusion 40% (48) use topical anesthesia only

3. If you administer an IV fluid, how do you administer it?

Facilities administering an IV infusion by angiocath were 49.5% (107), by saline lock 30.1% (65) and by heparin lock 15.3% (33).
