Research Interests & Current Projects

• Development of sustained-release (3-month) injectable timolol using PLGA. Collaboration with Markus Kuehn, PhD (Univ Iowa) and Erin Lavik, PhD (Yale).
• Role of complement in glaucoma optic nerve damage. Collaboration with Markus Kuehn, PhD.
• Development of automatic segmentation of optic disc into cup/rim from stereo optic disc photographs using pixel classification machine learning algorithm. Collaborators: Michael Abramoff, MD, PhD; W.L.M. Alward, MD; Emily Greenlee, MD.
