Annual Meeting 2001

Iowa Eye Association LogoThe Iowa Eye Association 2001 Annual Meeting "Advances in Retina and Ophthalmic Devices" was held in Iowa City on June 22 and 23.

Steve A. Arshinoff, MD, FRCSC, delivered the 30th Wolfe Foundation Lecture "Viscoelastic Surgical Devices". Dr.Arshinoff is Professor of Ophthalmology at Humber River Regional Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. Dr.Arshinoff also spoke about "Simultaneous Bilateral Cataract Surgery."

The 20th Braley Lecture "History of Vitreo-retinal Surgery" was given by Kirk H. Packo,MD, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Rush University/Ingalls Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. Dr.Packo also presented "Surgical Management of AMD."

Guest Faculty also included Richard C. Allen, PhD, MD, Assistant Professor of Comprehensive and Molecular Ophthalmology at Baylor University in Houston, Texas. Dr.Allen presented "The Open Globe - Revisited."
