Resolution
American Academy of Ophthalmology
Whereas,
he led the Academy to Medicare coverage for low vision services, and
Whereas, he provided the leadership for the reorganization
for our Continuing Education Program, and,
Whereas, he focused our attention on the role we can play in
International Ophthalmology, and
Whereas, his service as EYENET editor is a benchmark in excellent
member communication, and
Whereas, he became the first Internet President of the Academy,
now therefore, be it
Resolved that the Board of Trustees, members and staff of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology acknowledge their deep gratitude to
Thomas A. Weingeist, PhD, MD
for his unique contributions to the American Academy of Ophthalmology
and for his service as President for 2002.
