Trudy Grout Achieves FCLSA status

Trudy Grout, an optician in the Contact Lens Service at the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science, passed the Fellow examination at the Contact Lens Society of America (CLSA) 52nd Annual Education Meeting, April 18-21, 2007 in Phoenix, Arizona. Achieving Fellow status in the CLSA is recognized as an industry standard of educational excellence. Fellow Members are considered among the finest contact lens professionals in the business.

Regular members of CLSA complete a three-step process to become a Fellow: (1) a written examination (the NCLE Advanced Exam), (2) completion of professional development projects and (3) successful completion of the practical Fellow examination and hands-on testing administered by the 12-member Fellow Committee.

Ms. Grout was also nominated to serve on the CLSA Board of Directors. She will serve a 3-year term on the Board.
