Dr. Robert F. Mullins was named to this position during the ceremony. The investiture was attended by UI President Sally Mason and emceed by Dr. Edwin Stone, Seamans-Hauser Chair in Molecular Ophthalmology. Speakers included Jean Robillard, MD, UI Vice President for Medical Affairs, Lynette Marshall, President and CEO of the UI Foundation, Martin Carver, Benefactor, Veronika E.B. Kolder, MD, family representative, and Keith Carter, MD, Lillian C. O'Brien and Dr. C.S. O'Brien Chair in Ophthalmology and Head of the UI Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.

Medallions were presented to Dr. Mullins and to Martin Carver by Lynette Marshall and Paul Rothman, MD, Dean of the Carver College of Medicine.
