Case #21 Cataract

History

Patient complaining about painless, progressive loss of vision over a period of a year. Reading became more difficult and an increase in strength of the bifocal glasses did not help. There was no history of eye trauma or disease. After dilation of the pupil, the view with the direct ophthalmoscope showed a central opacity. Slit lamp examination showed the opacificaton was localized in the posterior lens capsule.
