New Fellows 2001

Cornea and External Diseases

Gregory I. Halperin, MD, has a BA in English from Carleton College and received his MD from Rush Medical College. Dr.Halperin did a surgery residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St.Lukes and Cook County Hospital, and an ophthalmology residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes.

Glaucoma

Edward P. Langlow, MD, received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University and his MD from University of Mississippi School of Medicine. His ophthalmology residency was done at LSU Eye Center, LSU Medical Center, New Orleans.

Glaucoma Research

Young Kim, MD, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, Inje University, Busan Park Hospital, Busan, Korea.

Dr. Kim received his medical degree from Inje University College of Medicine, Busan, Korea, and did his residency at the Department of Ophthalmology, Inje University, Busan Park Hospital.

Neuro-Ophthalmology

Julie Falardeau, MD, holds a College Diploma in Health Science, Abitibi-Temiscamingue College, Quebec, Canada. Dr. Falardeau received her MD from the University of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and did her ophthalmology residency at the University of Montreal, Quebec.  

Pediatric Ophthalmology

Deborah L. Klimek, MD, received a BA in Biology and Art, at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, and her MD from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Dr. Klimek did her ophthalmology residency at St. Louis University Eye Institute.

Kenneth M. Gainer, MD, received his BA in English and Chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College and his MD, fromWest Virginia University School of Medicine. He did his ophthalmology residency at West Virginia University, Morgantown.

Vitreoretinal Disease and Retina Surgery

Denise L. Kayser, MD, earned a BA in Biology fom the University of Virginia. She also holds a masters degree in public health and tropical medicine from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and an MD from the Tulane Medical School. Dr. Kayser's ophthalmology residency was at the University of California, Davis.

Karin R. Sletten, MD, received her BSE in Macromolecular Science and Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and her MD from the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Sletten's ophthalmology residency was done at the University of Michigan.
