The C. S. O'Brien Library
The C. S. O'Brien Library provides published medical information needed to support the teaching, research and clinical practice needs of faculty, fellows, residents, and other staff of the University of Iowa's Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences. The collection encompasses the literature of ophthalmology and the eye and closely related health care fields.
The O'Brien Library is a part of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and is not affiliated with the University of Iowa library system. The Hardin Library for the Health Sciences is also on the UI campus. Ophthalmology & Visual Science Department staff have borrowing privileges from any University of Iowa Library using a University of Iowa staff ID card or your hospital badge. The C. S. O'Brien Library cannot fulfill requests for photocopies of articles from persons unaffiliated with the Department because it may be a violation of copyright. Possible alternatives for obtaining copies of articles are listed below: The Interlibrary Loan Department of your Public Library is the least expensive alternative, many public libraries provide articles for free or for very low fees.
