Q3: The hyperpigmented areas in this photograph contain branches from what anatomic structure?

A3: Axenfeld nerve loops are a normal anatomic landmark often located ~2.5-3mm posterior to the limbus. They are derived from loops of the long posterior ciliary nerve within the sclera. They often are surrounded by pigment or share a scleral emissary with an artery.
