*Dr. Caccamise has very generously shared his images of patients taken while operating during the "eye season" in rural India as well as those from his private practice during the 1960's and 1970's. Many of his images are significant for their historical perspective and for techniques and conditions seen in settings in undeveloped areas.

Left frontal sinusitis with draining fistula
This adult female Indian presented with a history of a chronic discharge involving the left upper lid. X-ray studies confirmed the clinical impression of left frontal sinus osteomyelitis with fistula formation. In a second patient with the same pathology, the lid became adherent to the fistula's drainage opening. This resulted in a severe ectropion with epidermalization/tylosis of the chronically exposed palpebral conjunctiva.
