ICOP Professional Photography Competition



Announcing a Photographic Competition to allow registered ICOP delegates to share their outstanding images. First, second and third place certificate winners are to be announced at the ICOP 2006 Banquet, and a prize awarded to the overall winner. Three independent judges have been appointed to judge the exhibition. All entries will be exhibited at the Welcome Reception and Trade Opening Night, on Day 1 of ICOP 2006.

There are 3 Categories for both photographs and printed digital images:

  • Retinal Fundus Photography:
    Any angiogram, monochrome or color image of the vitreous, retina or choroid.

  • Slitlamp/External Eye Photography:
    Gonio, surgical, endothelial, slitlamp or external eye image.

  • Fine Art Photography:
    Any image that you feel has artistic merit - not necessarily associated with ophthalmology.

Conditions of Entry:

  • Limit of three entries per category, and entry is free
  • Entry submissions will only be accepted at the registration desk from 8:15 - 10:15am on Day 1 of ICOP 2006, Thursday May 18, 2006.
  • Each entry must be a single print - multiple prints will not be accepted for mounting on the same display board
  • Suggested print size is 8x10 inches, however prints can be any size up to and including 28cm X 35.5cm (11 inches by 14 inches).
  • Prints are to be brought to ICOP mounted on plain (white) 11x14 inch 5mm foamcore board (if this is not possible, then some boards and adhesive will be available on-site at ICOP for the use of delegates to mount their own prints).
  • Photographs revealing patient identity must be accompanied by a signed and witnessed release.
  • Winning images will be retained for publishing in the Journal of Ophthalmic Photography and returned to the owner at a later date.
  • Prints not selected for publication must be collected by the entrant on the final day of the conference.
  • ICOP 2006 will take the utmost care with your images, however, no responsibility for loss or damage to your entries can be accepted by any of the organising members or committees.
  • Each entry must be accompanied by a completed but unattached printed entry label (see below).

Entry Labels:

  • Must not be attached to prints - we suggest each entry be placed in a clear plastic bag, along with the detached label
  • Each label must be completed and signed. Your signature confirms that if selected, you consent to a "one-off" copyright release to the Journal of Ophthalmic Photography for publication of your image in the journal.
