Community projects

We sponsored the Little Hobo Railroad to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics for three days. The railroad featured model trains operating on realistic terrain mounted on a former railroad car bed. Three of the trains were set up to be operated by participants. It was a very successful event and was enjoyed by many pediatric patients, as well as staff and visitors.

On Thanksgiving and Christmas we have collected and delivered baskets containing fruit and cookies to ICU waiting rooms

We have performed children vision screening for CTYS (Coming to Your Senses) for various locations including Wal-Mart and the Children's Museum in Coralville.

We provided funds to purchase a washer/dryer for the Helen Rossi Guest house at UIHC. The Helen Rossi Guest House is located in the University of Iowa Hsopital and has rooms for families of adult patients to stay during the patient recovery process.

We donated money to the geriatric psychiatric unit for the purchase of a Van Der Lift to assist staff in lifting patients, thus saving backs and prolonging careers, not to mention better patient comfort.
