Herniated orbital fat

Defects or dehiscences in the orbital septum can lead to the swelling in the superior nasal region of the lid as seen in the photo. Surgery revealed this to be normal orbital fat.

Herniation of orbital fat

Orbital septum defects or dehiscences may allow herniation of orbital fat as seen in the photo. The differential diagnosis includes orbital lipoma and orbital lymphoma.
