Arshinoff Shell

Thomas A. Oetting, MS, MD

This video shows the use of the Arshinoff shell which is a useful way to take advantage of the best characteristics of the cohesive (in this case Provisc) and dispersive (in this case Viscoat) OVD (ophthalmic viscosurgical device) to proceed with the surgery. Steve Arshinoff from Toronto is well known for his work with OVD or viscoelastics.

Additional Notes: length: approx 30 seconds.

Please see "Cataract Surgery for Greenhorns", Chapter 3, for more on OVD
