Close The Chamber
Thomas A. Oetting, MS, MD
In this case we initially had no vitreous to the wound. With extended anterior vitrectomy with poor closure of the anterior chamber the vitreous was eventually pushed out of the eye around the anterior vitrectomy cutter. The dilute preservative free Kenalog stain clearly showed this process and helps to make this important teaching point. We try to use a separate paracentesis for the anterior vitrectomy cutter to keep it tight and the chamber closed.
