Removing Residual Lens Material

Thomas A. Oetting, MS, MD; Matt Rauen, MD

We discovered some residual nuclear lens material in the inferior angle about 1 month following surgery. The patient had a bit more inflammation than usual but was comfortable and had good vision. He had no cystoid macular edema. As the material appeared to be nuclear and not cortical, we felt it had to be removed so we took him to the operating room and used the technique shown in the video to remove the material.
