Image Comments:

1) Right facial droop from 7th nerve palsy after tumor resection. Patient developed corneal exposure and epitheliopathy.
2) Using 5-0 Nylon suture and a rubber catheter as bolsters, the lids were sutured together to allow corneal surface to heal (temporary tarsorrhaphy). A permanent tarsorrhaphy was done later. Suture was passed: trough bolster, lower lid tarsal plate, out the meibomian glands, through the meibomian glands of upper lid, through the tarsal plate, through the bolster, and then in reverse order to the lower lid. The suture was tied to keep the lids closed.
