Melanosis bulbi or melanosis oculi has maplike pigment areas in the sclera. These pigmented areas do not reach the limbus.The iris is usually heavily pigmented with melanosis bulbi/melanosis oculi.90% of the cases are unilateral.Usually the function of the eye remains normal.Occasionally a malignant change may occur.
