This young Indian male demonstrates the corneal stigmata of vitamin A deficiency during early infancy. In addition, careful inspection of the left cervical region near the ear will reveal a bulge. This is due to swollen tuberculous lymph nodes ( tuberculous lymphadenitis/scrofula). At times these involved glands will ulcerate through the overlying skin and produce a fungating mass.
