Young H. Kwon, MD, PhD is the Clifford M. & Ruth M. Altermatt Professor of Ophthalmology, specializing in glaucoma in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at the University of Iowa and VA Medical Center. He teaches ophthalmology and glaucoma to medical students, resident and fellow physicians, and is interested in educating the public about glaucoma. He has won numerous awards including Secretariat Award and Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and has been listed in Best Doctors in America. His research interests include application of artificial intelligence to glaucoma care, and molecular & cellular understanding of glaucoma.

John H. Fingert, MD, PhD is a Professor of Ophthalmology, holds the Hadley-Carver Chair in Glaucoma, and is the Director of the Glaucoma Service at the University of Iowa’s Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences. In addition to clinical care and teaching, his research led to the discovery of the first glaucoma gene (myocilin), and subsequently discovered a normal tension glaucoma gene (TBK1). He is investigating the mechanisms by which defects in genes lead to normal tension glaucoma. His research aim is to investigate the genetic basis of glaucoma and develop sight-saving therapies.

Emily Greenlee, MD specializes in ophthalmology and glaucoma and was a former Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa and VA Medical Center. She has a special interest in the education of glaucoma to medical students, physicians-in-training and glaucoma patients
